1,500 Acre Fire: 1,500 acre Banning fire rages toward CA homes, Evacuations are underway right now as a wildfire races towards homes and burns out of control in California.

Strong winds and bone dry grass are fueling the flames in Banning, about 80 miles east of Los Angeles.

Firefighters are trying to protect several homes on top of a ridge as the fire raced uphill towards them.

There were no reports of how many people have been evacuated, and the last estimate on the size was roughly 1,500 acres, but it continues to grow.

There are 200 firefighters on the scene, along with aerial support and at least one air tanker making drops.
