RG3 wedding gift, Griffin is set to marry Rebecca Liddicoat on July 6 in Virginia, and the the Redskins quarterback shared a photo on Twitter Sunday of the gifts fans have purchased off of the couple's Bed, Bath & Beyond registry.
It’s probably cheaper than buying a Robert Griffin III autograph.
Redskins fans, perhaps hoping to get a personalized “Thank You” note in return, have been buying up the items on RG3’s Bed, Bath & Beyond wedding registry, and the 23-year-old quarterback appreciates his fans’ generosity.
“Thank you to the Fans who are helping buy ALL the items from our wedding registry at Bed Bath & Beyond,” Griffin tweeted to his 900,000-plus Twitter followers Sunday along with a photo of him leaning on a small mountain of boxes from the home goods retailer.
Griffin is set to marry Rebecca Liddicoat on July 6 in Virginia, and the team at the Washington Post’s DC Sports Blog did a little digging last week and found the couple’s registry online, sharing the info with Washington’s rabid fanbase.
There must’ve been a little Twitter brushback against Griffin for flaunting his fan-financed wares, because the QB, set to make $4.79 million in 2013, later tweeted: “I didn’t ask the fans to buy me anything. They found it on their own and decided to get what they could. SMH at all these Debbie downers.”
There are over 200 items on the couple’s registry, including a jerky maker (it’s already been purchased), a deluxe potato cutter and numerous candles (the couple favors vanilla cupcake, cilantro pineapple and lavender vanilla scents).
But don’t worry if you’re late to the party, there are still a few items left on the registry. Not the ice cream maker, though, that’s already been scooped up.
