Kenneth Bortz Nieces and Nephews

Kenneth Bortz Nieces and Nephews, A lucky dog named Lucky is the beneficiary of the estate of his late owner, Kenneth Bortz of Ft. Worth, Texas.

A Ft. Worth man made his dog, Lucky, heir to his sizable fortune, entitling the pooch to thousands of dollars’ worth of china, furniture and collectibles.

Kenneth Bortz had collected enough furnishings to fill 10 homes, but when he passed away he had nobody to share it with except for Lucky, KHOU-TV reported.

"For Kenneth, his dogs were basically his children, his family," friend Skipper Dixon said.

Bortz's distant relatives didn't want the collectibles, so the items went up for sale - and the proceeds will go toward Lucky's care.

But don't expect Lucky to share the wealth. The dog is "elusive and protective," Dixon said.

Bortz's nieces and nephews will inherit the money once Lucky's life of luxury ends, the station said.

Among the boldface names you won’t be expecting to find exhibiting at Art Basel Miami Beach is Bubbles, Michael Jackson’s erstwhile chimpanzee companion. His paintings -- two moody abstracts each priced at $1,500 -- feature in “Endangered,” a fundraiser in aid of the Center for Great Apes, the sanctuary where he’s lived for eight years.
